City/Community Events for 2021

Press Release:

With a great deal of remorse, the City of Granite Falls, Granite Falls Fire District 17, Granite Falls Police Department, Granite Falls School District, and the Granite
Falls Chamber of Commerce (Chamber) jointly announce the cancellation of Railroad Days previously
scheduled for October 2, 2021. Based on the significant number of recent COVID-19 infections in
Snohomish County and the City of Granite Falls, the group feels it is in the community’s best interest to
cancel the event.
Due to the cancellation, the Chamber has withdrawn its permit application and is contacting each of the
vendors and parade applicants. The Chamber will reimburse expenses already paid for by each of the
vendors.
Businesses may still celebrate Railroad Days on October 2, 2021. However, we recommend reinforcing
preventive measures to help curb the growing number of COVID-19 cases in our area.
“We are sad we had to cancel Railroad Days,” said Mayor Matt Hartman. “It was a difficult decision, but
one that we had to make to ensure the health and safety of our community. However, we look forward
to coming together again and celebrating the historic and traditional events that make the City of
Granite Falls such a great and close-knit community.”
